In the Computer Shop
Customer: Could you show me some of the computers that you are selling. You know, I’m a journalist. Therefore, I’d especially be interested in small-sized notebooks.
Manager (of the Shop): Certainly, madam. First of all, let me show you the ‘Editor’s Top Products’, which are over here. I’d especially recommend you Lenovo ThinkPad X60s, Toshiba Qosmio G 35-AV600 and Apple PowerBook.
Customer. Oh, all of them look very nice. And which are your most popular products?
Manager: Our most popular products are these ones over here: HP Pavilion dv5,000Hz, Toshiba Satellite P105-S921 and Apple MacBook Pro.
Customer: Can you tell me how much Apple MacBook Pro costs?
Manager: £1,100.
Customer: Can you give me a brochure that contains MacBook Pro?
Manager: Yes, of course!

Notices in a Computer Shop
John: Have you ever been to this shop before?
Paul: No, I haven’t. But it looks like a well-organised shop. Look at all these notices on the aisles and counters!
John: Yes, they look marvellous! Where shall we start?
Paul: Let’s look at computer games first.
John: Have you heard of the game entitled ’Half-Life’?
Paul: No, I haven’t. What kind of game is it?
John: Have a look at it. It’s over here. It’s a science fiction first person shooter game. I like it a lot!
Paul: It looks great! But first, I’d like to try it out on your computer, and then I’ll see if I like it!
John: Look at all these different game sections! It says platformers, role-playing games, racing, fighting, action, puzzle, simulation, turn-based games and real time strategy games. Have you heard all of these categories before?
Paul: No, I haven’t. But I think we should go to the Accessories, too. You know, I want to look at the monitors. Actually, I want to buy a new one.

Choosing and Buying Accessories for Computers
Mary: You know, I need to buy several things for my computer. The thing is that my brother gave me his computer, but he kept several things saying he might need them in the future.
Sue: I see. And what would you like to buy?
Mary: First of all, I’d like to buy a mouse, because I can’t do anything without it!
Sue: I see. And what else?
Mary: Well, I’ll definitely need a pendrive and some floppy disks, as well.
Sue: Have you got a keyboard?
Mary: Yes, I’ve got one. But it’s so old and dirty that I think I’ll need a new one, too! But I’ve got only £80 on me. I hope it’ll be enough.
Sue: Let’s go to the cash desk, and we’ll see!
