Receiving a Consignment of Furniture in a London Furniture Store
Store Worker: Hello. It seems to me you’ve brought quite many items today!
Carrier: That’s right. Please, look at the carrier’s manifest. I think you can find everything that you’ve ordered there.
Store Worker: Yes, I can see the usual things again: chairs, kitchen stools, armchairs, a chest of drawers, sideboards, several desks, office furniture, and 2 beautiful glass-fronted cabinets. Have you got the Quality Certificates for all these items?
Carrier: Yes, of course. Here you are. Could you sign the Consignment Note, please?
Store Worker: Yes, of course. Thanks a lot!

Coaching a New Worker at the Carrier
New Worker: Do you think you could tell me a few words about the paperwork at this company?
Mr Brown: Yes, of course. There are quite a lot of documents here. Frankly, it took me about a month to learn about them all when I was new to the company.
New Worker: I hope I’ll be able to learn about them all in one or two weeks!
Mr Brown: Well, as I’ve told you there a quite many documents that we need to be familiar with. Today we could deal with three of them. Let’s start with the Packing List. Do you know what it is?
New Worker: No, I don’t.
Mr Brown: The Packing List gives details of one unit of the consignment (not the whole consignment).
New Worker: And how about the Weight Certificate and the Quality Certificate?
Mr Brown: The Weight Certificate evidences the actual weight of a consignment. The Quality Certificate may be required to prove the quality of the goods that belong to the consignment.
